5 Ex-Governors, 14 others make Tinubu’s 2nd batch of ministerial nominees

President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday forwarded additional 19 ministerial nominees list to Senate for screening and confirmation.
The Chief of Staff and the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajamiabila presented the new batch of ministerial list to the Senate President which was later read by Senator Akpabio.
The Rules of the Senate were suspended at 3:15 pm when the screening of Kwara nominee, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN) to allow for the Chief of Staff to enter the hallowed Chamber.
Among the prominent Nigerians who made the new list are five former governors.
They are: Adegboyega Oyetola from Osun, Atiku Bagudu from Kebbi, Bello Matawalle from Zamfara, Ibrahim Geidam from Yobe and Simon Lalong of Plateau.
Other nominees on the list are, Abdullahi Tijjani Gwarzo, Bosun Tijani, Dr Maryam Shetty, Isiak Salako, Tunji Alausa and Dr Yusuf Tanko Sununu
Others are Lola Ade John, Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, Prof Tahir Mamman, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, Senator Alkali Ahmed Saidu; Senator Heineken Lokpobori; Uba Maigari Ahmadu and Zaphaniah Bitrus Jisalo.
It be recalled that four former governors made the first batch list; they are Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa, David Umahi of Ebonyi, Nasiru Ahmed El- Rufai of Kaduna and Nyesom Wike of Rivers.
With the arrival of the seco nd batch of ministerial nominees, the total number of nominees before the Senate is now 47.
Meanwhile, the screening exercise of the second batch list, according to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, will commence on Friday this week while new nominees are given Thursday to perfect their documentation.
