Liberia announces new national carrier

(NNP) The government of George Weah has finally delivered on its promise to launch a new national carrier to fly the country’s flag in international skies. The new carrier will be known as “Lone Star Air” with the sub tag of “Wings of Liberia” and would begin initial flights schedule from Monrovia to regional capitals, Abidjan, Freetown, Conakry, Dakar, Abuja, Lagos, Accra and others. The airline is expected to be a low budget carrier that would boost the tourist industry. This announcement comes 30 years after the former national carrier plunged into the vast sea of oblivion killing all hopes of a thriving and sustainable aviation industry.  The start date for the new airline has not been announced.
