60 Entrants make Longlist for 1 Million Naira Recession Essay Prize

60 Entrants make Longlist for 1 Million Naira Recession Essay Prize

Lagos-based international Graduate School, CIAPS (The Centre for International Advanced and Professional Studies) has announced a the first set of results for its 2016 Public Interest Essay Competition aimed at studying the Nigerian Recession and finding solutions to it.

According to a statement on the Centre’s website (www.ciaps.org) “ The essay competition was open for entries for about three months, and over 250 essays were submitted.

The CIAPS longlist selection team came up with a list of 60 entries”.

Confirming the news the CIAPS Centre Director, Prof Anthony Kila noted that participants in the competition though united by a clear passion for understanding the country’s current economic travails, varied both in terms of age, gender, location, background and quality of entries.

He further stated that content of the entries also ranged from brilliant, interesting, to dull and even annoying.

The 2016 CIAPS Public Interest Essay Competition will confer 1Million Naira to the 5 most successful essays.

These finalists will be announced on 28 February 2017. The winners will be announced on April 8.
