Jonathan visits A/Ibom
Akwa Ibom, Goodluck Jonathan (2010-present), Headlines, Presidency, State News Wednesday, July 6th, 2011President Goodluck Jonathan will today, pay a visit to Akwa Ibom State. Following the scheduled visit, the state government has called on residents of the state to give the President a rousing welcome.
While in Akwa Ibom, the President is expected to be the special guest of honour at the Grand Finale of the Nigerian Army Day Celebration, NADCEL 2011, at the Uyo township stadium.
The Secretary to the State Government, Mr Umana Umana, in a statement, said that President Jonathan will commission some projects executed by the administration of Governor Godswill Akpabio.
The projects to be commissioned include Phase 2 of the Ekim Itam –Ikot Oku Ikono Road, the First in Africa Underground Pipe-jacking flood control project as well as the Federal Prisons Complex in Ikot Ekpene.
Jonathan had earlier during previous visits, commissioned the first phase of the Ibom International airport, the three new flyovers, some new roads and switched on the Ibom Power Plant, and inaugurated one of the five new general hospitals executed by Governor Akpabio.
