Jonathan hails Oshiomhole
Edo, Headlines, State News Tuesday, July 26th, 2011
President Goodluck Jonathan has commended Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole for his role in averting a nationwide strike recently.
A nationwide warning strike was called last week by the Nigerian Labour Congress after the Federal Government and some state governors said they would not implement the new minimum wage. However, the NLC back-pedalled on the planned industrial action.
Jonathan said, “I note, with great delight and relief, the fact that the threat by organised Labour to embark on a nationwide warning strike was called off at the last minute.
