Religious leaders have failed Nigeria – Cleric (Indeed)

Founder and Director of African Centre for Theological Studies, ACTS, Rev. H. Anie, said, weekend, that Nigerian religious leaders have failed in their duty of leading the nation on the right path. He spoke at the 14th convocation of ACTS in Lagos, Saturday.
Rev. Anie said: “God commanded us to go and multiply. Religious leaders in Nigeria sacrificed that commandment for unholy alliance with the world. The result is that the world has entered the Church.
“Instead of speaking the truth religious leaders are comfortable with honouring invita-tions from politicians and dubious business-men and women.
“Political leaders are supposed to feel honou-red in the presence of religious leaders.”
On the solution to the political and religious crises in the nation, Anie said: “Religious leaders must go back to the altar of repentance and shed corruption, worldliness, and their unholy alliance with politicians.”
