Police nab 80-yr-old for raping 4-yr-old in Kano

THE Kano State police command has arrested one Shu’abiu Jibrin (80), for allegedly raping a four-year-old girl, just as the command also paraded a 65-year-old man, Ado Shehu, for allegedly raping another four-year-old girl.

This is just as the command also nabbed a dismissed police corporal for allegedly raping a three-year-old girl.

Disclosing this on Wednesday in Kano, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Ibrahim Idris, said 56 suspects were arrested for various offences, ranging from armed robbery, theft, rape, culpable homicide to being in possession of illegal firearms.

The commissioner further stated that a 23-year-old man was arrested for attempting to kill his pregnant girlfriend after her refusal to abort the pregnancy.

Idris said one Ashiru Hassan was arrested for breaking an Oceanic Bank ATM machine, while he disclosed that a Chadian was nabbed for being in possession of illegal arms.

He said the suspect claimed to have come into Nigeria from Cameroun and later Chad Republic to buy spare parts for the repair of his vehicle.

He added that the Chadian, upon interrogation, confessed to have brought the firearms to his gang members in Kano for the purpose of robbery.

The command also paraded a DSP, Emeka Ubani, for allegedly discharging his firearms and shooting a member of staff of one hotel on the shoulder.

Idris also disclosed that one Adamu Sani was arrested for stealing goats, saying that five life goats were in the booth of the suspect’s vehicle.

He said when asked to give account of the goats, the suspect could not give a reasonable account and he was consequently arrested.
