Former Minister of Aviation, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, on Thursday said erstwhile President Olusegun Obasanjo resisted pressure from then Finance Minister, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, between 2006 and 2007 to implement full deregulation.

Fani-Kayode made the revelation while addressing protesters at Area One, Abuja during the public march against the Federal Government’s removal of fuel subsidy.

He said Obasanjo resisted the advice by Okonjo-Iweala, who is the current finance minister, because he believed it would hurt the masses badly.

He urged Nigerians to resist the deregulation policy as it would further impoverish the people.

Also at the rally, popular musician, Charles Oputa aka Charlie Boy urged Nigerians to demand good.
