Borno to build 7 Quaranic schools (Will those be followed by the building of 7 Christian schools?)

As a way of addressing the Boko Haram insurgency in Borno State, Governor Kashim Shettima has pledged to build seven Tsangaya (Quranic) schools in various parts of the state to provide both Western and Islamic system of education to pupils in the state.

Shettima made the pledge yesterday while commissioning the first phase of the ultra-modern Bilingual Tsangaya boarding primary school at Kirenowa in  Marte council area of  the  state.

He said government will accord topmost priority to provision of “qualitative and functional” education to all its citizens to  enable them contribute to the state‘s development.

“Knowledge is power and when used correctly, will enhance the standard of living of the society,” he said.
