FG declares April 6, 9 public holidays to mark Easter

THE Federal Government has declared Friday, 6th and Monday, 9th of April 2012 as public holidays to mark this year’s Easter celebrations.

Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro, who announced this on behalf of the government in a statement in Abuja on Thursday, said the public holidays were in line with the Christian calendar and tradition which recognised Friday, 6th and Monday, 9th of April 2012 as Good Friday and Easter Monday.

The statement, signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Alhaji Sheidu Ozigis, said Comrade Moro called on Christian faithful, to use the occasion to pray fervently for enduring peace and progress of the nation.

He also wished all Nigerians a pleasant Easter celebration.wp_posts
