Pray against civil unrest, Adeboye tasks Nigerians

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, on Friday, urged Nigerians to pray against civil unrest which is already happening in some countries.

Adeboye, who gave the charge before embarking on a sermon, entitled, “Hope Rising”,at the February Holy Ghost service of the RCCG at the Redemption Camp located along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, stressed that there is need to intensify prayers against civil unrest in the world.

He therefore encouraged the congregation to remain steadfast in their prayers to God, who has promised to still all troubled seas. “Let us continue to pray against civil unrest all over the world as we can see what is happening in Tunisia and Egypt. We need to pray when God says we should pray”.

Adeboye tasked Nigerians to pray for peace and progress for Nigeria particularly for Jos and its environs. He said Nigerians should pray for peaceful, free and fair general elections..

Quoting the books of 1Kings 18:41&45, 1Sam1:9-18, Adeboye explained that hope rising symbolised that a miracle or blessing is at hand, he also enjoined the congregations that the tide is turning for the congregations he added that Christians should not pray alone but also put faith into action saying action is the instrument of faith.wp_posts
