Police arrest 10 robbery suspects in Bauchi
Bauchi, Headlines, State News Friday, August 15th, 2014The Bauchi State police command has arrested 10 robbery suspects who have been terrorizing residents of the state.
The command Public Relations Officer Mr Mohammed Haruna, a Deputy Superintendent iof Police (DSP) disclosed this to Daily Sun, explaining that the gang specialised in instilling fear among the villagers and travelers along Darazo-Misau and Giade axis and extorting money from them.
DSP Haruna said that the command equally smashed a syndicate of Nitel cable vandals and arrested four suspects “with a very long Nitel cable of 250 meter long yet to be cut to size valued at 1.7Million Naira”
According to Haruna exhibits recovered from all the suspects included two fabricated rifles, two motorcycles, One Tipper Truck, Cutlass, Iron road, charm among others.
He said that Investigation is in progress.
Meanwhile, the command assured members of the Public that the upcoming distribution and issuance of permanent voters’ card would be conducted hitch free.
The police spokesman of the command said that all security arrangement had been put in place to ensure the success of the exercise.
“The command further warned all disgruntled elements who want to cash on the exercise and foment trouble to stay clear from the venue as anyone caught will be dealt with decisively.
Finally, the command urged members of the public not to relent in providing useful information that may assist the police in making the state safe and secured,” Haruna said.
