Govs demand review of revenue formula
Latest Politics Tuesday, February 8th, 2011The 36 state governors on Tuesday demanded a review of the federal allocation formula.
The governors, who met in Abuja under the aegis of the Nigeria Governors Forum, immediately set up a six-man committee to prepare their views on the issue. The committee, which is headed by Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN), also has the governors of Sokoto, Niger, Rivers, Adamawa and Enugu as members.
The NGF Chairman, Dr. Bukola Saraki, who announced the decision to newsmen at the end of the meeting, said the governors agreed to address the issue of unemployment in their states. He said this had a direct correlation with the state of insecurity in the country.
