Liverpool renews interest in Taye Taiwo

LIVERPOOL is plotting a second major transfer swoop on Marseille —  for Nigerian left- back Taye Taiwo.

Kop talent – spotter Damien Comolli watched the highly – rated defender in action against Sierra- Leone in a recent friendly match in Lagos  as he looks for a solution to Kenny Dalglish’s problem position.

Dalglish shattered Liverpool’s signing record by landing striker Andy Carroll from Newcastle and the – Geordies would demand a hefty fee for Enrique too.

However Liverpool desperately needs a recognised player in that position, with Paul Konchesky exiled at Nottingham Forest on loan and Glen Johnson filling in for the rest of the campaign.

Manchester United is also interested in Marseille left back, Taiwo, who is out of contract in the summer.

Manchester City, Real Madrid, Tottenham and Juventus have also watched the Nigerian.wp_posts
