Tornados won’t be relegated, Nasidi assures

Team manager of Niger Tornados, Danladi Nasidi has said that the club’s 16th position on the log with 20 points after 19 games of the first half the season would be better at the close of the season.

Naside who made this known while speaking with Inside Out Premier League said that the Minna Based club would not go relegation as the management is scooping round the other 19 teams in the Premier League for experienced players to execute its team’s goal.

“I want to assure you that Niger Tornadoes will not go on relegation. At the  beginning of the season, we did not have money to recruit experienced players, it cost us points and that is why we are faced with this present predicament. We could not afford players with fat salaries of 5 to 10 Million naira so we had to go for players from the grass-root to prosecute the season.

“This is the problem of the team and we have to correct it with the inclusion of new players that have understanding of the Premier League. “The government is solidly behind us, making sure that everything goes right, more so, the management of the clubs is putting measures in place so that the club will move up on the log and not be relegated.

“I appreciate the Chairman’s job and that of his management for taking time to reason with us and come out with the solution of recruiting new players who understand the terrain,” he said

On the capability of the technical crew led by returnee Coach, Justin Tenge to aid the team’s survival and moving up the table, the Minna-born team manager expressed confidence on the expertise of the former Kwara United tactician.

“We were in the 15th position last season when Tenge came in, at the end of that season, we finished 5th. I’m optimistic he will replicate that feat once again. The management, the Government and I as the Team Manager have strong confidence on Tenge,” Nasidi added.

Sharks to comb transfer market for new players

Sharks of Port Harcourt are preparing to strengthen their team with eight new players ahead of the concluding part of the Premier League season as they will also be letting off five  players.

Disclosing this to Inside Out Premier League, coach of the team, Imama Amapakabo said that the team needs fresh blood  as they strategise for the  second stanza of the league. “We just have to stock in some new places who we are still looking at and testing their capability. We are expecting about eight new players to join the team and five are going out.

“So far, we have been working hard on the players, we decided not go on break in other to put things in place. I think we are really prepared for the second phase of the league.

“At the end of the first half, we finished 6th on the log; so we believe that the title is an achievable feat and not far fiche,” coach Imama said.

Ocean Boys seek Bukola Babes’ duo

As the two week transfer break rounds off in the Nigerian Premier League, clubs have been scooping for players to fortify their teams ahead of the second stanza.

Inside Out Premier League gathered that Bukola Babes attacking forwards, Offiom Bassey and Promise James are being sought after by Ocean Boys of Brass.

The duo, according to our source, are expected to move to the Samson Siasia Stadium before the end of the transfer window.

Coach Larry Eteli is believed to be in love with the Ilorin based duo as he prepares to improve upon his team’s performance and move up the log.

Ocean Boys sit 13th on the league table with 26 points and pressure is being mounted on Coach Eteli to pick up in the second half of the season.

Beke scores officiating average

Former Bayelsa United chairman  Felix Beke  has rated officiating in the first half of the Nigerian Premier League average compared to what it was last season.

According to him, officiating for the first half of the league  was a bit  fair despite the absence of sponsorship, urging  the referees not to relent especially as they resume for the second half of the league.

“Honestly speaking, I must commend the way and manner officiating went in the  first half of the game despite the absence of sponsors. Due to lack of sponsor, I thought there  would be  bribery  but they  were upright.

On the aspect of away matches, there was nothing like home advantage, officiating was  fair  if not near perfect.  I just hope they continue like that. “Now that they are getting set for the second half, my advice for them is for them to maintain the  good work they have  started,” he said.

Ocean Boys may sign 3 new players

Ocean Boys are hoping to sign-on three strikers to beef-up the team, as the league is set to resume from its two weeks break.

Revealing this to Inside out Premier League, Media Officer of Ocean Boys,  Asein Eddy Ohis said he doesn’t know the players who will  remain in the club, following recent demands  of  players from clubs  but said their major target is to get three strikers  to the team.

“The team are preparing very hard for the second half of the season and again we have  some outstanding  players in the team.

There are some clubs that have been bidding for them, we  can not stop the  players when they want to go to other clubs or for national team assignments.  For now, we are only watching events as they unfold. But in all,  our  target is to get three strikers  that will beef-up the team, this is our focus now and is  what the management of the team has  decided,” Ohis said.
