Influential mayor of Seoul, South Korea, found dead

(NNP) The mayor of South Korea’s capital city and largest city, Seoul, has been found dead after he was reported missing by his daughter. The 64 year-old Park Won-Soon was a three-term mayor of the 1988 Olympic host city and was seen as a potential presidential candidate in the upcoming elections. Mr. Won-Soon had been a fierce critic of economic income and gender inequality and was the first lawyer to have won a sexual harassment conviction in the country.
The influntial mayor was reported missing on Thursday and security camera footage captured him at the entrance of the hills in the northern part of the city. After a seven-hour search, his body was found in a wooded area near a restaurant. There has been no word of the cause of death as of press time.
