Florida man arrested for pulling out a gun when asked to wear a mask in a grocery store
American Politics, COVID-19, Headlines, Health, NNP News Friday, July 24th, 2020(NNP) A Florida man has been arrested by U.S. police in the city of Palm Beach for pulling a gun and pointing it to the face of another man who asked him to wear a mask in a Wal-Mart retail store. The two had an altercation when the gun-pulling man was told to wear mask in accordance with the guidelines of Wal-Mart, the world’s largest retail store. The man had refused to comply and in the process pulled a gun in an attempt to settle the matter.
The 28 year-old man identified as Vincent Scavetta was arrested for aggravated assault with deadly weapon and the improper exhibition of a firearm, a police statement said. Critics have slammed Florida governor, Ron DeSantis, for not mandating a state-wide wearing of mask in the midst of surging coronavirus cases in the state. On Friday, the state reported 12,000 cases of new infections.
