Qatar 2022 WCQ: FG orders offices close in Abuja in support of Super Eagles against Ghana

(NNP) The Federal Government today announced the closure of all federal offices in Abuja from noon in light of the decisive World Cup match between the Super Eagles and Black Stars of Ghana slated for today, March 29. The two teams played to a goalless draw in Kumasi on March 25. The result means that Nigeria must be careful not to concede a goal at home as the away goal principle applies. Conceding a goal means that the Super Eagles would have to score at least three goals to overcome that lone goal of the Black Stars as that lone goal counts as two.
Realizing the importance of this match, the federal government has asked Nigerians to support the team and flood the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja. The stadium has a capacity of 60,000. The statement was stated in a circular from the office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Folashade Yemi-Esan. It was signed by the Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare Office, Dr. Ngozi Nwudiwe.
Kickoff is at 6 p.m. Nigerian time.
