Calm in Plateau, as voters turn out en masse

Voters turned out in large numbers in Plateau State to participate in last Saturday’s National Assembly election. Although in some areas, there was low turnout, but generally the turnout was impressive.

However, our correspondent observed that there was absence of electoral officers and election materials in some polling units. For example in Kufang 3 Ward, near the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, electoral officers were yet to report to their polling units as at 10.45am.

Plateau State Governor, Mr. Jonah Jang, who voted in his Ladura Polling Unit in Du ward, expressed satisfaction at the turnout.

Gbom Gwom Jos, His Majesty Buba Buba, who also voted in his Kagayan unit in Du, also expressed satisfaction at the large turnout.
