Gunmen kidnap Edo deputy gov’s father-in-law
Edo, Headlines, State News Tuesday, June 7th, 2011Unknown gunmen yesterday kidnapped the Edo State Deputy Governor’s father-in-law, Chief Felix Okungbowa, in Benin City. The gunmen were said to have stormed his residence located on Ewasede Street, off First East Circular Road in the state capital where they abducted him.
As at press time yesterday, the kidnappers were yet to make contacts with the family of Chief Okungbowa.
The incident took place while the son-in-law, Dr. Pius Odubu, who is the deputy governor, was said to be away on a tree-planting programme at Urhonigbe in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of the state.
According to the police sources, the kidnappers were yet to state their reasons for the action nor had they demanded any ransom. Dependable sources close to the number two citizen of the state also confirmed the incident.
