Account for the 2 Billion Naira Mgbafor Soludo Hospital, PDP tells Soludo

Re: N2b Fund Raised For Hospital, PDP Enjoins Prof Soludo, to come clean and Speak the Truth.

The Anambra State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Prof Charles Soludo to come out clean by speaking the truth as no mortal is infallible, with respect to the two billion Naira he raised to build a hospital at Isuofia, Aguata LGA, Anambra State.

The charge was made by the Publicity Secretary of PDP in the state, Mr Nnamdi Nwangwu. He noted that the allegation of financial sharp practices leveled against him is so grevious and cannot be swept under the carpet.

The PDP image maker said that it is an established fact that it is a grave and serious allegation for a person in the class of the former governor of CBN to raise money from public spirited individuals without using the raised money for the same purpose for which donations were made.

Mr Nwangwu noted that the excuse being raised in defense of the governor of CBN by his supporters that certain persons and corporate organisations did not redeem their pledge does not hold water.

“It is incumbent on Prof Soludo to tell the general public how much he actually raised for the hospital project and equally present the names of persons and organisations that are yet to redeem their pledge since 2008 to the public. We also expect our dear professor to tell Anambra people how much he has spent on the project and extent of work done, Anambra people will want to know who the Trustees of the foundation are, he should also tell us the bank managing the account and who are the signatories to the account.” Nwangwu noted. As a man who has held high offices and desires to hold more tomorrow, he cannot claim ignorance of laid down best practices.

The PDP Publicity Secretary stated that any foundation desirous of raising funds through the public should equally be ready at all times to be answerable to the public.

  1. Could Soludo be embarking on a project, without timeline, from 2008 to 2020, is twelve years already and we are still counting, is that what Anambriarians are in for under a Soludo governance, “Mbanu, anyi aju “
  2. What was the process of tendering for the execution of the project.
  3. Who is the contractor.
  4. How much has been paid for the job.
  5. What is the outstanding scope of work.
  6. Is he willing to hand it over, to those who know how to start a project & accomplish same in record time.

Prof Soludo & his media Aide’s instead of finger pointing and all manner of distractions should come clean on this matter and speak, the truth, and nothing but the truth, this is a test on the honour and integrity of those who aspire for leadership positions.
