Airforce plane crashes in Benue
Armed Forces, Benue, Headlines, State News Thursday, May 12th, 2011An F-7Ni aircraft of the Nigerian Air Force, Makurdi, crashed Wednesday morning in Yandev Mbaniongu Mbazaam near Yandev, in Gboko local government area of Benue State.
The aircraft which took off from Makurdi crashed into Community Secondary School, Km 4 Buruku road.
The NAF Public Relations Officers Wing Commander Adedayo Makun while confirming the incident to Journalists said the two pilots on board the plane were unharmed.
Wing Commander Makun further added that a NAF search and rescue helicopter from 305 Flying Training School, Enugu sighted the crashed plane and successfully recovered the pilots who are now receiving medical attention at NAF hospital, Makurdi.
He disclosed that an investigative team ordered by the Chief of Air Staff was already at the crash site to ascertain the cause of the crash.
