Ajimobi to revisit reports on fake certificates in public service

OYO State governor, Senator  Abiola Ajimobi, has promised to revisit reports of investigations into instances of fake certificates in the state public service.

He made the pledge when he hosted retired civil servants in the state, as part of his interactions with different groups in the state during the daily breaking of the Ramadan fast.

Ajimobi said he had received many petitions of the presence of top civil servants, who had been found to possess false certificates and who still remained in the civil service.

He said there were evidences that some of such officers were engaged in anti-government activities, saying the government would expose such people and prosecute them under appropriate laws, for collecting salaries under false pretence.

The governor also promised that in his determination to ensure probity at the local government, allegations against some Directors of Personnel Management (DPMs) and officials of  Local Government Service Commission would be investigated.

He said he had met the heads of  local councils on several occasions and had expressed the commitment of his government to ensuring that the state and local governments worked together to guarantee rapid development at the grassroots.

Governor Ajimobi said the process could only succeed when DPMs and officials of Local Government Service Commission, who were found wanting were brought to book, in accordance with the laws of the land.
