Arik Staff beat man for complaining over cancelled flight
Aviation, Headlines Sunday, July 24th, 2016By Ben Agande Abuja – Staff of Arik Airline Sunday morning at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport in Abuja beat a man to stupor for complaining about the cancellation of his flight for the whole day. The man who was travelling with his wife and children approached the Arik desk to get a boarding pass when he was told by a staff of the airline that ‘we have cancelled all the flights for today’. When he sought to know why, the staff told him “Oga no disturb us. No be only you de travel” .
When he demanded for a refund of his money, two staff of the airline pounced on him and wrestled him to the ground while his wife and children watched helplessly. At this point, passengers who were waiting for other airlines intervened and save the situation which had already degenerated to a free for all. It took the intervention of some security men who tried to calm down the situation. When there was no end to the free for all, some soldiers were drafted into the hall to maintain calm. Astaff of the airline blamed the problem on lack of aviation fuel for the cancellation.
