(NNP) The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has been impeached for a second time. He will be the first president in the history of the United States to be impeached twice. Trump was impeached on one article of incitement of insurrection following the mob that attacked the Congress resulting in the death of six people, including two Capitol police officers.
Trump in the morning of the attack had addressed the mob and instigated the attack. Trump was impeached in February 2019 on two articles of obstruction of Congress and abuse of power. The article of impeachment for the second impeachment would now be sent to the Senate where Trump will be tried. If convicted, he would be expelled from office. However, their are concerns that his term would run out before the process of trial in the Senate is completed. Trump leaves office on Jan. 20.
