Breaking News: Nigeria Army Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Attahiru, others, reportedly killed in a plane crash

(NNP) Nigeria Army Chief of Staff, Lt. General Ibrahim Attahiru, is reportedly among those killed in a plane crash today, May 21 near the Kaduna International Airport. The plane had eight passengers all of whom it was reported did not survive the crash. A tweet from the Nigeria Airforce confirmed the crash without saying if the chief of Army Staff was among the casualties, but stated that it is still investigating the cause.
A military training aircraft has crashed at the Kaduna airport with all eight persons on board the aircraft feared dead including Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Ibrahim Attahiru. The crash occurred this evening May 21.
Attahiru, born in Kaduna, was 54 years old. He was appointed in January 2021 in response to the growing threat of Boko Haram and the pervasive state of insecurity in the country.
