British Airways slashes fares to mark 75 years

The British Airways has announced special fare discounts for its Nigerian customers to mark its 75 years of operation in the country.
A statement by the airline in Lagos on Wednesday said that the fare reduction would affect travellers to Europe and the United States from Lagos and Abuja.
The statement quoted the BA Country Commercial Manager in Nigeria, Mr Kola Olayinka, as saying that travellers from Lagos to London on the Economy class would pay $340.
Those from Abuja on the same class would pay $290.
Olayinka said that for those travelling to the same destination in World Traveller Plus (Premium Economy) would pay $820 for Lagos-London route and $820 for Abuja-London route.
According to him, fares in the Club World have been reduced to $2,360 and $2,160 for Lagos to London and Abuja to London routes, respectively.
Olayinka said that the airline’s fares on its World Traveller from Lagos and Abuja to other UK and European destinations like Paris, Milan and Zurich would start from $323.
He said that fares on these routes in the World Traveller Plus had also been reduced to $853 from Lagos and $803 from Abuja.
The commercial manager said that Club World fares had been reduced to $2,393 (Lagos) and $2,193 (Abuja).
Olayinka said that travellers from Lagos to East Coast cities in the US like New York, Boston and Washington would now pay from $480 (World Traveller), $960 (World Traveller Plus) and $2,500 (Club World).
