President Muhammadu Buhari has sacked the Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Mr. Patrick Ziakede Akpobolokemi.

Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Femi Adesina,‎ in a statement, said the sack is with  immediate effect.

Akpobolokemi will hand over to the most senior officer in the agency, who will remain in charge until a new director-general is appointed.

The sacked DG was reappointed by former President Goodluck Jonathan ‎on December 23, 2014.

Meanwhile, President  Buhari has dissolved the governing boards of federal parastatals, agencies and institutions with immediate effect.

The President had earlier sacked the Board of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

Also, former Chairman of Pension Reform Task Team, Dr. Abdulrasheed Maina, Chief of Defence Service Chiefs and Director-General, Department of State Security (DSS).
