Canada to partner Edo on vocational training

THE Canadian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr Chris Cooter, has said the Canadian government would partner with the Edo State government in the area of vocational training.

Mr Cooter stated this in Benin, when he paid a visit to the Executive Director of Africa Network for Environment and Economic Justice (ANEEJ), Reverend David Ugolor, at his office in Benin City.

According to the Canadian High Commissioner, the Canadian government would support the Benin Technical College and other vocational training institutes in the state, adding that the Benin Technical College looked like the one he attended in the 1970s in Canada.

He said the Canadian Government would provide vocational training teachers, equipment and other vocational training aids so as to boost vocational training system in the state.

Responding, Reverend Ugolor thanked the Canadian government for the assistance it had been rendering civil society in the country in deepening democracy and fighting human rights abuses.
