Yakubu
NIGERIAN international, Yakubu Aiyegbeni is wanted by two leading Chinese clubs, Guan Beijing and Shanghai Shenhua on a £5million-a-year (about N1.25b) contract.
Yakubu, who scored 18 goals in the recently concluded English Premier League (EPL) has expressed his feelings that he is not interested in going down with Blackburn.
Blackburn has been relegated following a poor performance in the 2011-2012 EPL season.
Yakubu has a clause in his contract which allows him to leave for £1million and that will not be a problem for the wealthy Chinese, who have also offered him £100,000 a week.
The 29-year-old said: ”I played in the Championship before. It was good but I don’t want to play there again.”
Yakubu who started his European career in Israel with Macabi Haifa, has spent most of his club career in England.
He has played for Portsmouth, Middlesbrough, Everton, Leicester City and lately, Blackburn Rovers.
