ABAKALIKI – FORMER Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Ebonyi State chapter, Rt. Rev Godfrey Agupusi yesterday called on President Goodluck Jonathan to ban Dana Air lines which one of its aircrafts crashed on Sunday killing 170 Nigerians.
Speaking with Vanguard, the bishop described the crash painful and condoled with the families of the deceased, praying God to give them the fortitude to bear the loss.
He said: “It is true that the Federal Government has not concluded its investigation to determine whether it was carelessness on the side of the air craft managers that led to the crash but if yes, they should be sanctioned’.
I don’t think that anybody or group have ever been sanctioned on account of such deadly act and or mistake. Many families have lost their bread winners on account of the carelessness in the air industry. The President should punish them accordingly; who ever that is responsible for Sunday’s air disaster. This will serve as deterrent to other careless ones.”
