Don’t Let Politicians Mislead You, Sultan Tells Muslims

President-General, SCIA and Sultan of Sokoto , Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III has cautioned Muslims against misleadings by Nigerian politicians.
According to the royal father, politicians were of the habit of misleading people by making statements which are not backed by the Qur’anic injunctions or Hadiths.
Sultan Abubakar made the remark in Sokoto at the 5th National Conference of Sharia’ah
Implementing States performed at the Shukurah-Coral Hotel, Sokoto venue of the event.
He said, “God has joined us together and nobody should infringe on the religious rights of the other in the spririt of unity and respect for one another’’ .
His words: ‘’ We should respect each other in Nigeria .We must continue to be united in the country,’’ Abubakar added.
Similarly, Governor Aliyu Wamakko represented by the education commissioner , Alhaji Arzika Tureta noted that , sharia’ah entails the provision of good governance , equity and justice.
Wamakko further said, the state government created the ministry for religious affairs in 2007 to meet the yearnings of the people, pointing out that, Sokoto was instrumental to the institutionalization of sharia’ah over 200 years ago in Nigeria and other parts of west Africa.
Also speaking, Second republic president and chairman of the occasion, Alhaji Shehu Shagari and chairman said, the need and motivating factors for the institution of shari’ah stemmed from the increasing rate of crimes, social vices and indiscipline .
He noted that Shari’ah was a mixture of law , religion and ethics which provides a more comprehensive solution to these complex human problems.
