Driver hacks boss to death in Kwara
Headlines Sunday, February 13th, 2011A 36-year-old trader, Mrs. Abigail Osakwe, was allegedly murdered by her driver in Jebba town, Kwara State on Sunday.
THE PUNCH learnt that the driver, Sule Salau aka ‘Elegusi’, allegedly murdered his boss in an attempt to forcefully take away an undisclosed amount of money meant for trading. The late Delta State-born Osakwe, who studied Business Administration at the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State and her driver were scheduled to travel to Ilorin to buy some building materials for sale before Salau allegedly visited her room on Sunday morning and killed her.
A brother to the deceased, Alex Osakwe, told newsmen that on Saturday, his late sister and the driver counted the said amount together. He added the suspect was identified by a close relation of the deceased, who witnessed the murder.
Alex said his late sister and the relation were sleeping in the same room when the suspect allegedly entered through the window. The suspect allegedly hit the sleeping woman with a pestle on the head several times before fleeing with the money.
He stressed that the suspect was arrested by the DPO of Jebba Police Station, Mr. Kenneth Nwagio, and had been transferred to Ilorin.
The President of Delta State Association in Jebba, Mr. Tony Ofuokwu, who also spoke, expressed shock at the murder.wp_posts
