Easter: Sultan greets Christians

The President-General of Nigeria Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, has sent a message of goodwill to Christians on the Easter celebration.
The special Easter message, was signed by NSCIA Secretary General, Dr. AbdulLateef Adegbite, and addressed to the National President of Christian Association of Nigeria, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor.
Abubakar urged Christians to use the Easter period to rededicate themselves to the service of God.
“His Eminence, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General, NSCIA, and the entire Nigerian Muslims, felicitate with you and the Christian Community as you celebrate this year’s Easter.
“We urge all to rededicate themselves to the service of God, the nation and all humanity,” the letter stated.
While wishing the Christian community happy Easter celebrations, the Sultan urged Christians to emulate the virtues of Christ and celebrate with moderation.
Meanwhile, the Federal Government has declared Friday, April 22, and Monday, April 25, as public holidays for the celebration of Easter.
