Egbesu Fraternity vows to avenge Boko Haram killings..claims responsibility for Sapele Mosque bombing

The precarious security situation in Nigeria arising from serial bomb
attacks of religious places might have deteriorated with the emergence of a
group known as the Egbesu Mightier Fraternity, which claimed
responsibility for the bombing of an Islamic school in the complex of the
Sapele Central Mosque, Delta State.

The novel group which vowed to avenge the killing of any Christian by the
Boko Haram sect, vowed to carry out reprisal attacks on Muslims.

“We will continue to kill until the number of souls terminated by Boko
Haram is completed before we will cease fire”, the group declared in a
statement.

The group warned that it would brook no condemnation from any one from
the southern part of the country, insisting that anyone who raises a voice
against their action would be considered a collaborator in the Boko Haram
menace.

Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC, a predominantly Yoruba traditional youth
organization had warned that it would avenge any Boko Haram sponsored
bombing in any part of South West geo-political zone.

Meanwhile, the Bayelsa State chapter of the National Youth Council of
Nigeria (NYCN) has called for an end to the spate of bombings by the Boko
Haram sect.

Describing the bombings as a display of madness, the Council in a
statement in Yenogoa, said it was irked by the helplessness of the
government in the face of the deterioration of security situation in the
country.

According to the Council in the statement signed by Preye Ketebu-Brown,
the most patriotic step for Nigeria’s security chiefs is to immediately resign
