The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, last night, returned to Kano barely five weeks after he had left the country for medical attention in London hospital. He was attacked by gunmen on January 19 this year. The monarch ,whose plane arrived in the Mallam Aminu Kano Airport about7.00 pm was in the company of two of his sons, Alhaji Nasiru Ado Bayero, (the Turakin Kano) Kano and Alhaji Lamido Sanusi, (the Ciroma Kano) who were wounded in the attack. Both equally sought for medical attention abroad in the wake of the attack .
The Emir, who returned in a Federal Government plane, had a brief stop at the Presidential Lounge of the airport where he was received by the entire district heads of the Emirate Council led by by the Senior Councillor, Alhaji Abbas Sanusi, who paid homage to him. Also at the airport to receive the monarch were top government functionaries and leading Islamic clerics in the state. Governor, Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso was represented by his Special Adviser, Gen Danbazu.
The Emir had travelled to a London hospital for medical attention on January 19 following the dasdardly attack, on his convoy as he was returning from an Islamic graduation by some gunmen. However, yesterday, the emir in the company of his sons soon after, drove away from the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport for his palace. There was secrecy on the date of his arrival given the need to maintain a low profile. One of his sons, Alhaji Aminu Ado, thanked Allah for his father’s return.wp_posts
