Female highway bombers kill 10 in Borno – Police
Boko Haram, Borno, Headlines, State News Friday, July 3rd, 2015The Police command in Borno State on Friday confirmed the killing of at least 10 persons after Thursday’s two highway suicide bombings in some parts of the state.
Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Aderemi Opadokun, confirmed this to newsmen in Maiduguri.
Opadokun said a suicide attack occurred at Malari village along the Bama/Konduga highway, involving a suspected female bomber.
The CP added, “The first attack happened at Malari village along the Bama/Konduga highway when a female suicide bomber detonated an Improvised Explosive Device, strapped to her body, killing herself and seven others.
“Thirteen persons sustained injuries and were rushed to hospital for help.
“The second attack happened along Alao Dam Road near Bama/Konduga highway when another female bomber killed herself and three other persons.”
He said their corpses and the injured persons had been evacuated to the hospital.
Opadokun also confirmed Wednesday’s suspected insurgents’ raid on Kukuwa in Kukawa Local Government Area, in which over 140 persons were killed and houses burnt.
He said eight victims of the attack were still recuperating at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.-Punchwp_posts
