FG re-awards Zik’s mausoleum contract
Nnamdi Azikiwe (1963-66), Presidency Tuesday, January 15th, 2013THE Federal Government Monday re-awarded the construction of Zik’s mausoleum in Onitsha to a French company, Bouygues, at the cost of N1.49 billion.
The mausoleum is the final resting place of the former President of Nigeria, the late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, who died in 1996, which was first awarded by the late Gen. Sani Abacha.
This is the fourth time the Federal Government is awarding the contract for the construction of the mausoleum at Zik’s Inosi Onira residence in Onitsha.
Project Co-ordinator of the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Mrs. Pat Odogwu, who handed over the project documents to Bouygues construction company at Onitsha, said the project was re-awarded to the company because of its competence and technical expertise.
