FIFA election: Two candidates step down for Pinnick
Headlines, Soccer, Sports Sunday, March 7th, 2021Barely 24 hours ago, two candidates whose name were not disclosed yet have stepped down for President, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Pinnick as the election date draws nearer.
The present NFF President who is one of the contestants for the only available Africa seat on the FIFA Executive Council committee have traveled to over 30 Africa countries to campaign for the soul aim of ‘Think Africa’ according to him.
Pinnick’s dream is to ensure that Africa has a formidable voice in world football.
The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Sunday Dare spoke with one of the candidates yesterday to ensure that the backing that the FG pledged to support Pinnick is not in doubt as the candidate stepped down immediately.
It is highly commendable to know that FIFA as the body that oversees World football is trying as much as possible to ensure that the election is free and fair.
With this latest development, Pinnick is gradually becoming the favourite to win the election.
