Finally, remains of Barrister arrives Lagos
Headlines Thursday, December 30th, 2010The late Fuji maestro whose corpse would have been flown into the country for final burial according to Islamic injunction could not be flown in as a result of bad weather which has disrupted flights across Europe and America.
As early as 2 .00 pm on Thursday, the international wing of the Lagos airport has been besieged by fans of the fallen Fuji exponent numbering hundreds to receive the corpse of the late Fuji maestro including journalists.
The remains of late musician which should have arrived Nigeria at about 6.00pm arrived aboard an Air France aircraft which touched down at the airport around 8.00pm.
Immediately the corpse was brought out of a big gate, reporters, supporters and relations surged forward and they were restrained by stern looking policemen who pleaded with reporters to move forward.
Among staunch musicians who came to receive his corpse were the late Fuji master’s number one competitor, Alhaji Kollingnton Ayinla, King Ayinde Marshal, also called KWAM 1, Sir Sina Peters, Abbas Akande popularly known as Obesere, Adewale Ayuba, Wasiu Alabi Pasuma and a host of other musicians who paid tribute to him.
Barrister would be mostly remembered for his popular hit Fuji Garbage.
