Gunmen on motorcycle shot dead Kano Minority Leader

Police in Kano on Friday confirmed that two gunmen on a motor
bike gunned down Hon. Danladi Isa Kademi, minority leader of the
Kano state House of Assembly in Northern Nigeria.

“I can confirm that Danladi Isa Kademi, a lawmaker at the Kano
state house of assembly was shot dead by two gunmen around 6:00
pm today.

“The gunmen came on a motorcycle and fired several shots into the
lawmaker.” said spokesman of Kano state police Magaji Majia.

According to Majia, the lawmaker was killed outside his own guest
house.

Hon. Kademi, was a former chairman of Gaya local council and a
former chairman of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria
(ALGON), Kano branch.

He won election into the House of Assembly on the platform of the
All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP and became the minority leader.

Islamic militant group, Boko Haram which has killed several
prominent politicians in the region using similar tactics is believed to
be responsible for the attack.
