By Ochogwu SundayThe Coalition of South East Youth Leaders, COSEYL, has condemned the attack on Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s convoy at Enugwu Ukwu junction in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State. The attack on the politician’s private convoy on Sunday around Nkwo Enugwu Ukwu Market in Anambra, while the lawmaker was on his way to his country home, had led to the death of his aides and security agents accompanying him. DAILY POST had reported that the armed men suspected to be assassins opened fire on Ubah’s convoy leaving several persons dead. Reacting, COSEYL, in a statement issued on Monday by its President General, Goodluck Ibem said the attack was triggered by “something fishy”, asking the law enforcement agencies to uncover the circumstances surrounding the attack. The statement reads, “We are really pained and disheartened to receive this heartbreaking news of how our youths lost their lives in broad daylight. What a wicked world. “It is infelicitous that such senseless killing of innocent youths who have done nothing wrong is happening in Igboland, the zone that was known to be very peaceful. “Something is fishy in this very attack and we demand that security agencies must unravel those hoodlums and their sponsors behind the assassination attempt on the life of Senator Ubah and bring them to justice. “This vicious attack and assassination of our youths is a confirmation that enemies of Ndigbo have crept into our midst and they must be fished out by all means.” |
