Jigawa will soon be a model for others, says Lamido

GOVERNOR Sule Lamido of Jigawa State has directed Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Lawal Abdu Babura, to rise to the challenge of his administration’s resolve of making the state a model for others in Nigeria.

He gave the charge at the weekend when he administered the oath of office on Babura at the Government House, Dutse, the state capital. He told Babura not allow his supporters to distract him from understanding the enormity of the task ahead of him.

Lamido said Jigawa had recorded tremendous transformation in the past four years and pledged to use the second term to consolidate on the achievements.

The governor stated that the administration would initiate changes that might not be misunderstood at the initial stage, adding that “it is a normal phenomenon in life since governance is dynamic”.

Lamido hinted that because the challenges ahead are enormous, he had to bring on board people with the courage and commitment to taking the state to an enviable height.

He said: “The challenges are enormous and we need people with the courage, the discipline, the commitment and the fear of Allah to finally take Jigawa to its deserved place in the federation. I have a dream and I have a mission and the mission is all about Jigawa, the vision is also Jigawa.

“It is a very simple one. It may appear difficult but to us, it is simple, because of our collective resolve and commitment, nothing is insurmountable. At the end of the next four years, Jigawa State will be a new reference point for other states and institutions to draw their definitions on issues such as religion, politics, culture and social. They will be taking their bearing from the state because we are going to make Jigawa very great”, he said.

He charged the civil servants to support to the SSG, stressing that their solidarity would only be meaningful if Babura succeeds.
