Jonathan meets ex-leaders in Aso Rock
Presidency Thursday, June 12th, 2014PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan was expected to meet with former Nigerian leaders at the Presidential Villa on Thursday night.
The meeting, scheduled for 8.00 p.m, was classified as private.
It was not clear whether all former leaders were invited to attend and neither was it known what was to be the focus of the meeting.
However, former heads of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar and Muhammadu Buhari; former vice president, Dr Alex Ekwueme and former Chief of General Staff, Commodore Ebitu Ukiwe, were in town at the time of this report, while a former president, Alhaji Shehu Shagari, had been represented at the all-political parties summit which took place in Abuja earlier in the day.
Others that were expected, if invited as former leaders, would be former head of state, General Yakubu Gowon; former presidents, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, General Ibrahim Babangida and former chairman of Interim National Government (ING), Chief Ernest Shonekan.wp_posts
