Jonathan thanks Ndigbo for massively voting for him

President Goodluck Jonathan has thanked the people of the South East for massively voting for him during the just concluded Presidential election.Jonathan, at a one-day rally in Owerri on Friday, however, said the support and votes for him as President cannot be complete if the governors of the zone are not carried along in the same page.
Represented by the Minster of Labour and Productivity, Chief Emeka Wogu, who now oversees the Interior Affairs Ministry, at a one-day official visit by the wife of the President Dame Patience Goodluck Jonathan, the President asked the electorate of Imo State to vote for Governor Ikedi Ohakim and all the candidates of the State House of Assembly in the Tuesday, April 26 election.
He described Ohakim as an apostle of Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and requested them to vote for the Imo governor and PDP as they voted for Zik in 1950s, 1960s and Zik as well as the late former Governor Sam Mbakwe in 1979 and 1983 elections.
In her speech, the First Lady, asked the people of the state to regard the PDP as their party and assured them that for voting for her husband, Imo State and indeed other South East states will smile as soon as her husband is sworn in on May 29, this year.
She noted that Ohakim has delivered the dividends of democracy to the people and has promised 35 per cent affirmation action for Imo women in his administration, pointing out that if given another chance to govern Imo, PDP under Ohakim will do more for  not only women but the entire people of the state.
The wife of the governor of Imo State, Mrs. Chioma Ohakim, described Nigeria’s First Lady as a rare gem, stressing that it is because of her good qualities and that of her husband that made Nigerians to collectively vote for Jonathan as President.
Governor Ohakim, in his address, thanked Dame Jonathan for coming to speak to her brothers and sisters of Imo State and remarked that a vote for him and other PDP candidates will enhance a close tie between the state and the Federal Government as both will be controlled by PDP.wp_posts
