Jos crisis: Only FG can determine when we’ll leave Plateau -STF commander

s complaints continue to trail the operations of the Special Task Force (STF) in Jos, the Commander of the STF, Brigadier-General Hassan Umaru, has declared that it is only the Federal Government that can determine the time the task force will leave the state.

It will be recalled that various bodies and individuals in recent time have been calling for the withdrawal of the STF men from streets of Jos over what they tagged their complicity in the crisis.

Addressing newsmen in Jos, the commander said they were not worried about the call that they should go, adding that the defence headquarters in conjunction with the Federal Government could determine when to leave the state.

Brigadier-General Umaru strongly condemned Monday’s protest of women against his men, at K Vom in Jos South Local Government Area of the state, adding that in spite of the provocation his men still maintained their calm.
