Kano govt deploys delegation to Edo over Uromi killings

By Kola Oyelere

In response to the recent brutal killings of Kano indigenes in Edo State, the Kano State Government has concluded arrangements to deploy a powerful delegation to engage with the Edo State Government and the Hausa community in Edo.

The delegation, set to depart for Edo on Monday, aims to ensure that justice is served and those responsible for the heinous act are brought to justice.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf made this known in a live broadcast from Government House, Kano, where he condemned the barbaric act, describing it as “uncalled for.”

He assured the people of Kano that his administration will leave no stone unturned in the pursuit of justice.

“We will ensure that all those affected are fully compensated,” Governor Yusuf stated. “I have spoken with the Edo State Governor, and he has assured me that most of the suspected culprits have been apprehended, and investigations are ongoing.”

He therefore urged the people of Kano to remain law-abiding and to avoid taking the law into their own hands.

He emphasised that Kano has been recognised as one of the most peaceful states in the country and encouraged residents to maintain this reputation.

Governor Yusuf extended his condolences to the families of the affected victims and the entire people of Kano State, describing the incident as a “sad moment for all of us.”

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to providing enhanced infrastructure and welfare for the well-being of the general populace.

The Kano State Government’s swift response to the incident demonstrates its resolve to protect the rights and interests of its citizens, both within and outside the state.

As the delegation departs for Edo, the people of Kano await justice and closure for the victims and their families.
