Kidnapping Saga: Governor Muazu Babangida Aliyu, release Fejiro Oliver now.
Headlines, Niger, State News Saturday, September 27th, 2014Kidnapping Saga: Governor Muazu Babangida Aliyu, Release Fejiro Oliver Now.
For the past three days, friends and family members of an online journalist and human right activist, Mr Fejiro Oliver have become concerned about his whereabouts after he was invited for a civic meeting by the Niger State SSG, Mr Saidu Kpaki. Mr. Oliver who had in the past written informative and investigative articles about various government officials in Nigeria and that of the Niger State on the basis of truth as he exercised his constitutional right of freedom of the press was ambushed and kidnapped by the Nigeria State Secret Service (SSS) on the order of Governor, Alhaji Mu’azu Babangia Aliyu, who parades himself as the ‘Chief Servant’ of Niger State.
Is Governor Mu’azu Babangia Aliyu truly a Chief Servant? No, he cannot go by such a people-friendly title. Mu’azu Aliyu is nothing short of a tyrant, kidnapper, assassin and corrupt political Chieftain. It’s only corrupt mongrels in government houses who work tirelessly to silence their critics. This is what Mu’azu Aliyu should know.
One imagines, after the ‘arrest’ of a vocal activists, a sane government will give access to or inform the family members and the public of their big catch. Mr. Oliver’s health issue too is a major cause of worries a friend related to us said that he was undergoing treatment with heart related issue. He should therefore be allowed to access to his Doctors and medication.
Whatever crime Mr. Oliver committed should be laid bared for the public to screen, even if it were murder, kidnapping or money laundry which Governor Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu and some of his corrupt colleagues are Chief Servant of.
President Goodluck Jonathan should not allow desperately corrupt governors like Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu to allow the name of Nigeria to continue to be dragged into mud and cesspit of cankerworms before the international community. Nigeria belongs to a people, and the name should be respected.
We are still waiting to hear about the whereabouts of Mr. Fejiro Oliver before we take another step. If he has committed any crime, the law demands that he should be charged to court within 24 hours.
