Man, 27, arraigned for attempted bank robbery
Headlines Thursday, February 20th, 2014A 27-year-old man, Bright Okudiri, who allegedly entered into a bank with an intent to steal, was on Thursday arraigned at an Abule Egba Magistrates’ Court.
The accused, an unemployed with no fixed address, is facing a count charge of attempt to commit an offence.
The prosecutor, Insp. Racheal Williams, told the court that the act was carried out on Feb. 15 at Diamond Bank, Iyana-Ipaja at midnight.
According to the prosecution, the accused wanted to burgle the bank but was caught by a vigilance group and was arrested.
Williams said that the offence contravened the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011.
However, the accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mr Tajudeen Elias, granted him bail for N50,000 with one surety.
He adjourned the case to March 19 for mention.
