ABUJA— Governorship candidate of Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, in Saturdays’ election in Adamawa State, General Buba Marwa, has condoled with the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Adamawa State chapter, over the death of their Christian brethren in the hands of gunmen, saying the act is totally condemnable.
In a condolence letter to CAN, he said: “We received with great shock the needless loss of lives of our brothers and sisters in the dastardly circumstances in Mubi and Yola North.
“My Campaign Organisation totally condemns the needless killings and prays that it never occur again in Adamawa State.”
“As I said shortly after the incidents, it is my belief that the killings were politically-motivated to achieve a political goal like creating a semblance of general insecurity in the state.”
“I however, join millions of good people of Adamawa State in praying that the innocent souls of our deceased rest in the bosom of the lord.
“On behalf of my family and the entire members of the Marwa Campaign Organisation, I wish to pay our condolences over this ill-timed and great loss.
“I also wish to call on CAN Adamawa State to pray for a peaceful and trouble-free election on Saturday.”
